The iron filings react with copper sulfate, the copper is displaced and iron sulfate results.

Copper sulfate + Iron reaction

The reaction between iron filings and copper sulfate is represented by the equation below:

Fe + CuSO_4--- > FeSO_4 + Cu

The iron filings displace the copper from copper sulfate to form iron sulfate. Thus, elemental copper and iron sulfate are formed.

Iron is able to displace copper from copper sulfate because iron ranks higher than copper in the reactivity series.

A reaction has ?h?rxn= -129 kj and ?s?rxn= 301 j/k .
Gennadij [26K]
I was thinking that the question would be to find for the operating temperature of the reaction. Change in entropy is equal to the total energy divided by the temperature. Assuming it is isothermal, internal energy would be zero. Therefore, the temperature would be:

T = 129000/301 = 428.57 K

If I contain 3 moles of gas in a container with a volume of 60 liters and at a temperature of 400 K, what is the pressure inside
olasank [31]

Answer:

n = 3.0 moles

V = 60.0 L

T = 400 K

From PV = nRT, you can find P

P = nRT/V = (3.0 mol)(0.0821 L-atm/K-mol)(400 K)/60.0L

P = 1.642 atm = 1.6 atm (to 2 significant figures)

Show how to carry out the transformation of benzene to chlorobenzene by going through a diazonium intermediate.
steposvetlana [31]
Following steps are involved in this reaction,
Nitration: Nitration of benzene yield nitrobenzene.
Reduction: Reduction of Nitrobenzene yield Aniline.
Diazotization: Diazonium alt of benzene is formed from aniline.
At last diazonium salt is reacted with CuCl to yield chlorobenzene.

Sodium hydroxide is classified as a strong base in water. This means that it produces no hydroxide ions. 100% of the maximum num
mr Goodwill [35]

Answer:

Hi

Sodium Hydroxide is a strong base, it dissolves easily in water producing a large amount of calories and completely dissolving in its ions, to give hydroxide ions, as seen in the reaction:

NaOH(ac) ⇒ Na+(ac) + OH-(ac)

In the presence of ambient humidity, sodium hydroxide reacts with carbon dioxide to generate sodium carbonate. The gradual hydration generates six different hydrates: NaOH.H2O, NaOH.2H2O, NaOH.3.5H2O, NaOH.4H2O, NaOH.5H2O, NaOH.7H2O. Its great affinity for water causes a reduction in water vapor pressure and for that reason it is a very good drying agent.
