The graph for Mei Mei' trip is attached accordingly. Also attached are the values derived from the question.

What is the explanation for the graph?

The secret to comprehending the graph is to understand that every time Mei Mei spent while she was on the way to bank and back were are all computed cumulatively.

This means that when she stops at the store which is 8 blocks away from home (that is 2 blocks per min x 4 mins = 8blocks) the time spent is recorded as 4 + 5 at location 8 blocks, which is equals 9 minutes.

Also take note of the fact that the time spent is plotted on the x-axis and the blocks away from home on the y-axis.

How do you round off 639,121 to the nearest ten thousand?
maxonik [38]
You want to find the closest ten thousand that there is to 639,121.

So a ten thousand is basically anything that ends with four or more zeros.

For example:

530000 would be a ten thousand because it has four zeros at the end.

So you can see what the closest ten thousands are to 639,121 would be.

They would be:

630,000 and 640,000

Since they both have four zeros at the end.

Now you can just tell that 639,121 is closer to 640,000 because the digit in the thousands place, 9, is closer to 10 than 0.

Hope this helped :)
