Answer:

Golgi body receives, packages/modifies, then sends proteins and other cellular materials to various destinations. So, it is MOST like a post office.

Explanation:

The Golgi bodies are made up of 4 to 8 cup-shaped, series of compartments known as cisternae which are flattened, disk-shaped, stacked pouches and connected by tubular connections.

Golgi bodies has following functions:

 • Its main function is the packaging, modification and secretion of proteins. It receives proteins from Endoplasmic Reticulum. It packages it into membrane-bound vesicles, which are then transported to various destinations, such as lysosomes, plasma membrane or secretion. They also take part in the transport of lipids and the formation of lysosomes.

 • Enzymatic processing and post-translational modification occur near the membrane surface in Golgi bodies, e.g. phosphorylation, glycosylation, etc.

 • Golgi apparatus is the site for the synthesis of various glycolipids, glycoproteins, etc.

ryzh [129]

Answer:

The correct answer is B: it contains cellulose.

Explanation:

Looking at all of the options for this answer, we know that both plant and animal cells contain a, c, and d (a selectively permeable membrane). That leaves us with b: cellulose. Cellulose is found ONLY in plants, and it is what gives them their structure. That is what is different from the onion (the plant cell) and the human skin (the animal cell). Let me know if this helps!

Contrast fast fibers with slow fibers in terms of diameter, glycogen reserves, myoglobin content, and relative abundance of mito
GrogVix [38]

Answer:

The skeletal muscle fibres are of two types namely slow-twitch muscle fibres (type I muscle fibre) and fast-twitch muscle fibre (type II muscle fibre).

The slow fibres are slow contracting and help in developing endurance such as long distance running, maintaining posture etc whereas fast fibres are fast contracting and help in movements which require force such as sprinting etc.

Other differences are summarized in a tabular form attached below.

const2013 [10]
Olfaction is not a tactile sensation, nor it's related to chewing food.

Olfactory receptors are chemical receptors in the nasal cavity that react with different odors creating the sense of smell that is interpreted in the brain.

So, olfaction is a chemical sensation that we experience while inhaling different odors through our noses.
