Answer:

The (latent) heat of vaporization (∆Hvap) also known as the enthalpy of vaporization or evaporation, is the amount of energy (enthalpy) that must be added to a liquid substance, to transform a given quantity of the substance into a gas.

The enthalpy of vaporization is a function of the pressure at which that transformation takes place. The heat of vaporization diminishes with increasing temperature and it vanishes completely at a certain point called the critical temperature (Critical temperature for water: 373.946 °C  or 705.103 °F,  Critical pressure: 220.6 bar = 22.06 MPa  = 3200 psi ).

When a person strikes and lights a match, potential energy in the match is transformed into which types of energy?
leva [86]

Answer:

thermal and radiant

Explanation:

- thermal energy refers to the energy transmitted through heat

- radiant energy refers to the energy transmitted through electromagnetic radiation, such as light

When the person lights the match, the match produces both heat (thermal energy) and light (radiant energy), so the correct answer is

thermal and radiant

A circuit has a 2Ω resistor in series with a 4Ω resistor. What is the total resistance of the circuit?
neonofarm [45]

Answer: 6Ω

Explanation:

Since the resistors are connected in series, the total resistance (Rtotal) of the circuit is the sum of each resistance.

i.e Rtotal = R1 + R2

R1 = 2Ω

R2 = 4Ω

Rtotal = ?

Rtotal = 2Ω + 4Ω

Rtotal = 6Ω

Thus, the total resistance of the circuit is 6Ω

Mass varies depending on where the object is located.<br> True or false
Zanzabum
False
explanation: Weight is the pull of Earth on an object. It depends on the distance from the center of Earth. Unlike weight, mass does not vary with location. The mass of an object is the same on Earth, in orbit, or on the surface of the Moon.
