Diffraction gratings with 10,000 lines per centimeter are readily available. Suppose you have one, and you send a beam of white

light through it to a screen 2.00 m away. Find the angles for the first-order diffraction of the shortest and longest wavelengths of visible light (380 and 760 nm).

The angles for the first-order diffraction of the shortest and longest wavelengths of visible light are 22.33 ⁰ and 49.46 ⁰ respectively.

Angle for the first order diffraction

The angle for the first order diffraction is calculated as follows;

dsinθ = mλ

sinθ = mλ/d

For shortest wavelength (λ = 380 nm)

d = 1/10,000 lines/cm

d = 1 x 10⁻⁴ cm x 10⁻² m/cm = 1 x 10⁻⁶ m/lines

sinθ = (1 x 380 x 10⁻⁹)/(1 x 10⁻⁶)

sinθ = 0.38

θ = sin⁻¹(0.38)

θ = 22.33 ⁰

For longest wavelength (λ = 760 nm)

sinθ = (1 x 760 x 10⁻⁹)/(1 x 10⁻⁶)

sinθ = 0.76

θ = sin⁻¹(0.76)

θ = 49.46 ⁰

Irina18 [472]

Answer:

Explanation:

Force on the electron due to magnetic field 's north component will be zero because both velocity of electron and direction of magnetic field are same .

Force due to downward component of magnetic field

= B q v where B is magnetic field , q is charge moving and v is velocity of charge

F = 5 .00 x 10⁻⁵ x 1.6 x 10⁻¹⁹ x 4 x 10⁷

= 32 x 10⁻¹⁷ N

acceleration = F / m where m is mass of electron

= 32 x 10⁻¹⁷ / 9.11 x 10⁻³¹

= 3.5 x 10¹⁴ m/s²

How is the L-section filter useful at both low and high frequencies?
Gnom [1K]

Answer: High pass filters, and in particular LC high pass filters are used in many RF applications where they block the lower frequencies and allow through higher frequency signals. Typically LC filters are used for the higher radio frequencies where active filters are not so manageable, and inductors more appropriate.

An object with mass 110 kg moved in outer space. When it was at location < 13, -18, -2 > its speed was 19.5 m/s. A single
Serhud [2]

Answer:

v = 21.4m/s

Explanation:

Given r1 = < 13, -18, -2 > m,

F = < 250, 390, -220 > N, r2 = < 19, -23, -5 > m

Where r1 and r2 are position vectors in space and F is the constant force vector in space.

r2 - r1 = < 19–13, -23–(-18), -5–(-2) > m

Δr = < 6, -5, -3 > m

F = m×a

a = F/m

m = 110kg (scalar quantity)

a = < 250/110, 390/110, -220/110 >

a = < 2.27, 3.55, -2 > m/s²

Since the force is constant, the acceleration is also constant. Therefore the equations of constant acceleration motion apply here.

V² = u² +2aΔr

The magnitude of the acceleration is calculated as follows

a = √(2.27² + 3.55² +(-2)²)

a = √(21.7554)

a = 4.66m/s²

Magnitude of Δr,

Δr = √(6² + (-5)² +(-3)²) = √(70) = 8.37m

Having calculated the magnitude of the acceleration and displacement, we can now calculate the final velocity.

u = initial velocity = 19.5m/s

v² = 19.5² + 2×4.66×8.37

v² = 458.25

v = √(458.25)

v = 21.4m/s
