Answer: Hope this helps.

13, 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Number one is 13

Number two is 7

Well 7 x 2 = 14, 14-1 = 7, and 7+13 = 20 making the answers true.

I figured out this number by eliminating numbers, I started with 5, ended with 8 to make a range of the possible numbers. Since 5 was too low and 8 was too high I knew the number had to be either 6 or 7, so I did 7 and I got the answer.

Answer:

7 and 13

You can set up a simple equation to solve this: x + (2x-1) = 20

The x stands for the second, smaller number because the larger number is one less than twice it. When added together, they equal 20.

Now, you just solve for x. It goes as follows:

x + 2x - 1 = 20

3x - 1 = 20

3x = 21

x = 7

Since one number is 7, the other number has to be 13 to add up to 20.

Hope this helps!!! :)

Answer:

Associative Property of Addition

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, in the second line, there are plus signs (+'s), indicating this is addition. But this time, unlike the first line, the numbers are grouped together with parentheses. When numbers are grouped with parentheses, it means it is the Associative property. Because we are adding, it's the associative property of ADDITION.

Hope this helped!

Answer:

9 and 11

Step-by-step explanation:

First number = x -2

Second number = x

  and   2x = 3(x-2)  - 5

            2x = 3x - 6 - 5

             x = 11

              first number = 11-2 = 9
