a) equation will be  0.5x + 3 = 18.50

b)  equation will be  (0.75x - 0.10x) + 3 = 21.00

<h3>What is equation?</h3>

An equation is a mathematical statement that is made up of two expressions connected by an equal sign.

a) Sydney made $18.50 selling lemonade.

she sold each cup for $0.50 and received a $3 tip from a neighbor.

let x be the cost  of cup she sold.

equation will be  0.5x + 3 = 18.50

b) Daria made a profit of $21.00 selling lemonade

she sold her lemonade for $0.75 per cup, received a tip of $3 from a neighbor.

equation will be  (0.75x - 0.10x) + 3 = 21.00

c) Sydney don't have to pay for the cups used while Daria paid.

In a New York coupon experiment, the experiment was conducted to test the effects of the face value of coupons on the likelihood
steposvetlana [31]

Answer:

The correct approach will be "the likelihood of cashing the coupon".

Step-by-step explanation:

  • That what's being examined as well as calculated throughout the experiment or observational study seems to be the dependent variable (almost always widely recognized as that of the responding variable). As a consequence of the modifications to something like the independent variable, that's what modifications.
  • Whether large you are really at various ages would be an illustration of some kind of dependent variable.

Need help using synthetic division!
viktelen [127]

Answer:

3x^{2} -3x+8-\frac{9}{x+1}

Step-by-step explanation:

Since we're dividing the polynomial by (x+1), we'll be using -1 to start the division.

Before setting the division up, let's list the coefficients of x from descending powers and the constant.

The coefficient of x^{3} is 3

Since we don't see an x^{2}, the coefficient will be 0.

The coefficient of x is 5.

Lastly, the constant, which is the term without the x is -1.

Refer to the attached picture before continuing.

After referring to the picture, we now have the coefficients for the quotient.

The coefficient of x^{2} is 3.

The coefficient of x is -3.

The constant is 8.

Lastly, since the last number is not zero, it's the remainder just like regular division. This can be tricky to remember, but -9 is not the actual remainder.

The remainder is actually \frac{-9}{x+1}.

Now putting all the pieces together, we get:

3x^{2} -3x+8-\frac{9}{x+1}
