The maximum vertical height of the object that is lifted is 360 m.

<h3>What is power?</h3>

Power is the amount of energy transferred or converted per unit time.

Amount of energy consumed by a 60W light bulb for 1 minutes

P = 60 W

t = 1 mins = 60seconds

W = 10N

This shows that the electrical energy is converted to potential energy

Let calculate the electrical energy

Power is the rate of doing work

Power = Work / time

Therefore, W = P x T

W = 60 × 60

W = 3600 J

Potential energy can be calculated using

P.E = mgh

W = mg

Then, P.E = W•h

P.E = 10•h

Then, Potential energy = Electrical energy

P.E = Work

10•h = 3600

Divide both sides by 10

h = 3600 / 10

h = 360m

So, the object will be lifted to a height of 360m

valkas [14]

Answer:

a) T = 0.5 s

b) v = 1.2π m/s ≈ 3.77 m/s

Explanation:

It makes two revolutions in one second so makes one revolution in ½ second

circumference of the circle is

C = 2πr = 0.6π m

which it traverses in one time period

0.6π m / 0.5 s = 1.2π m/s

A power plant produces 1000 MW to supply a city 40 km away. Current flows from the power plant on a single wire of resistance 0.
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer:

Current = 8696 A

Fraction of power lost = \dfrac{80}{529} = 0.151

Explanation:

Electric power is given by

P=IV

where I is the current and V is the voltage.

I=\dfrac{P}{V}

Using values from the question,

I=\dfrac{1000\times10^6 \text{ W}}{115\times10^3\text{ V}} = 8696 \text{ A}

The power loss is given by

P_\text{loss} = I^2R

where R is the resistance of the wire. From the question, the wire has a resistance of 0.050\Omega per km. Since resistance is proportional to length, the resistance of the wire is

R = 0.050\times40 = 2\Omega

Hence,

P_\text{loss} = \left(\dfrac{200000}{23}\right)^2\times2

The fraction lost = \dfrac{P_\text{loss}}{P}=\left(\dfrac{200000}{23}\right)^2\times2\div (1000\times10^6)=\dfrac{80}{529}=0.151

A uniform disk of mass M and radius R has rotational inertia about its central axis of Idisk = 1/2 MR2. A uniform rod of mass m
expeople1 [14]

Answer:

5/6 MR²

Explanation:

In the composite object, the distance from the disk's axis to the rod's axis is R/2.  Using parallel axis theorem, the rod's new moment of inertia is:

I = 1/12 MR² + M (R/2)²

I = 1/12 MR² + 1/4 MR²

I = 1/3 MR²

The total moment of inertia is therefore:

I = 1/2 MR² + 1/3 MR²

I = 5/6 MR²
