The graph of h(x) is shown. Graph of h of x that begins in quadrant two and decreases rapidly following the vertical line which

is 5 units to the left of the y-axis. The curve crosses the x-axis 4 units to the left of the origin and crosses the y-axis one unit below the origin and then continues to decrease to the right in quadrant 4. What are the intercepts and asymptote(s) of h(x)? Explain how to find these using the graph.

Answer:

x-intercept

The point at which the curve crosses the x-axis, so when y = 0.

From inspection of the graph, the curve appears to cross the x-axis when x = -4, so the x-intercept is (-4, 0)

y-intercept

The point at which the curve crosses the y-axis, so when x = 0.

From inspection of the graph, the curve appears to cross the y-axis when y = -1, so the y-intercept is (0, -1)

Asymptote

A line which the curve gets infinitely close to, but never touches.

From inspection of the graph, the curve appears to get infinitely close to but never touches the vertical line at x = -5, so the vertical asymptote is x = -5

(Please note: we cannot be sure that there is a horizontal asymptote at y = -2 without knowing the equation of the graph, or seeing a larger portion of the graph).

#1

x intercept is the point where h(x) crosses x axis

 • (-4,0)

y intercept is the point where h(x) crosses y axis

 • (0,-1)

#2

asymptotes are those lines which the function tries to cross but never crosses

Here vertical asymptote is

 • x=-5

The horizontal asymptote is

 • y=-2

Evaluate ㏒ b 1, b > 0.
IrinaVladis [17]

Answer:

The solution is 1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Logarithm:

Suppose we have a logarithmic equation in the following format:

\log_{a} b = c

It means that:

a_c = b

In this question:

\log_{b} 1 = x

Which means that:

b^x = 1

Every number, elevated to 0, is 1. So

b^0 = 1

Which means that the solution is x = 1

1
Which sequence of transformations takes AA to its image, AB ?
lianna [129]

A rigid transformation preserves the dimensions of the image

The option that gives the sequence of transformation that takes ΔB to ΔB is the option B.

(B) Reflection across y-axis and a translation 2 units down

Reason:

Question: The sequence of transformation that takes ΔA to image ΔB

From a similar question, we have, ;

The vertices of triangle ΔA are; (-8, 9), (-9, 4), (-3, 4)

The vertices of triangle ΔB are; (8, 7), (3, 2), (9, 2)

The options are;

(A) Reflection over the x-axis and 2 units translation down

(B) Reflection over the y-axis and 2 units translation down

(C) 90° rotation after a translation of 2 units down

(D) 90° rotation after a translation of 12units right

Solution;

The length of the base of ΔA = -3 - (-9) = 6

The length of the base of ΔB = 9 - 3 = 6

Therefore, the length s of triangle A and triangle B are equal

The orientation of the base of ΔA and ΔB are both horizontal

The location of the the side that traverses four cells are both furthest from the y-axis, or the vertical

Therefore, ΔB is a reflection of ΔA across the y-axis

We also have;

The base of ΔB is 2 units lower than the base ΔA

Therefore, the correct option is option B, reflection across y-axis and a translation 2 units down

Y ( x + w ) = c ( x + z )
ycow [4]

The formula for x in terms of other terms in the equation is; x = (cz-yw)/(y-c).

What is the formular for x in term of other terms in the equation?

According to the task content, it follows that the variable X is to be made the subject of the formula;

Hence, it follows that;

y ( x + w ) = c ( x + z )

yx +yw = cx +cz

x(y-c) = (cz-yw)

x = (cz-yw)/(y-c)

Remarks: The complete question requires that x be made the subject of the formula.
