Why do astronauts eat freeze dried food I space

Food was cooked, quickly frozen, and then dehydrated in a special vacuum chamber. Freeze-dried food didn't need to be refrigerated and would last a long time. To make most freeze-dried foods, astronauts squeeze water into the food packages and then eat the food after it absorbs the water.

The astronauts had to eat dried food because they didn't know when their food was going to spoil or when they would get more. Its like living of a weeks worth of groceries for a few months. It took the station a long time to send food because of all the light years ( how many years it takes light to go through space) it takes to get to the space ship with hungry astronauts.

Which of the following products of the light reactions of photosynthesis is consumed during the Calvin cycle? A) oxygen B) water
IrinaK [193]

Answer:

NADPH

Explanation:

Light-dependent reactions form the NADPH when the electrons from the water molecule are passed from PS II to PS I and finally to the NADP+. The enzyme NADP reductase catalyzes the reduction of NADP+ into NADPH. The enzyme is located on the stromal side of the thylakoid membranes and therefore, the NADPH is released into the stroma. Stroma is the site for the reaction of the Calvin cycle. During the Calvin cycle, the reduction of 3-phosphoglycerate into glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate uses NADPH as the electron donor.

When El Niño occurs every three to seven years, a mass of warm Pacific water that is usually pushed westward by trade winds Grou
DedPeter [7]

Answer:

"When El Niño occurs every three to seven years, a mass of warm Pacific water that is usually pushed westward by trade winds, surges back eastward toward South America".

Explanation:

Under normal conditions, warm water and air masses move westward, which makes it possible for cold water to ascend in a process known as upwelling. This upwelling occurs in South America´s coasts, providing nutrients from the bottom to the animals, especially fishes -which favors fisheries activities-. Humidity goes straight to the west precipitating in Indochina and North Australia, among other places.

Under El Niño conditions, a tropical stream, that is normally small, acquires strength while the opposite streams debilitate. This avoids warm water to go westward, remaining in South America´s coasts, which produces unusual precipitations in Chile´s coasts -followed by floral bloom in Atacama desert-, and fewer precipitations in Eastsouth Asia and North Australia. Upwelling does not occur, so there is a fishery crisis because nutrients from the bottom do no ascend and fish populations remain equal or smaller.
