Ellen, a political intern, analyzes poll data for Cal Stegall, a candidate for state legislature. She notices Stegall's populari

ty was highest after he gave three speeches on the need for tax reform. When she suggests to the team that Stegall should focus on tax reform closer to the election, the campaign manager points out that even if there is a correlation, that does not prove the speeches CAUSED the increase in popularity.

Answer:

The campaign manager is correct since other favorable events could have boosted Stegall's popularity after those speeches.

Step-by-step explanation:

When analyzing data, it may be tempting to assume that a correlation between two variables indicates one variable caused the other. However, other factors may affect the data. In this example, The campaign manager is correct since other favorable events could have boosted Stegall's popularity after those speeches..

Which is an equation of the line with a slope of (1,4) and a y-intercept of-2
anzhelika [568]

Answer:

y=6x-2

Step-by-step explanation:

Fisrt things first, you want to find the slop. One of the points is (1,4). You want the other point. Using the y-int, you can figure out the other point is (0,-2). You get this because the y-intercept means the x value is 0.

Next you use the two points and plug it into the formula (change in y/ change in x)

(-2-4)/(0-1)=-6/-1 = 6

Now you know the slope is 6. Since you know the y-int, you can plug that into the slope-intercept formula (y=mx+b)

That would give you: y=6x-2

I need help on this question, It's for Algebra 1 Simplify the following expression. (7x2 + 4x - 7) + (4x2 - 6x + 4)
Drupady [299]
You can only add like terms

exg
you can addd
2+4
2x+4x
2x^2+4x^2
2x^3+4x^3

but not
2+4x
2x^2+2x^3

so when adding like terms keep the exponent
4x+2x=6x
4x^3+2x^3=6x^3

(7x^2+4x-7)+(4x^2-6x+4)
get rid of the parenthasees
7x^2+4x-7+4x^2-6x+4
group like terms (x^2 with x^2 x with x, etc)

(7x^2+4x^2)+(4x-6x)+(-7+4)
add like terms
11x^2-2x-3

The maximum grain for corn is achieved by planting at a density of 40,000 plants per acre. A farmer wants to maximize the yield
Bumek [7]

Answer:

514,400 plants.

Step-by-step Explanation:

From the attached diagram given below which shows the coordinate grid, we can say the shape of the farm is that of a trapezium.

Number of plants to be planted by the farmer at 40,000 plants per acre = area of land in acres * 40,000.

Let's find the area of the land(trapezium):

Area of trapezium = ½(a+b)*h

From the coordinate grid, from point E to H on the y-axis, we have 900 units = 900 ft (Given that 1 unit = 1 foot).

Also, from F to G, we have 500 units = 500ft; and the height of the trapezium is represented by the number of units the trapezium covers on the x-axis = 800units = 800ft.

a = 900ft, b = 500ft, c= 800ft

==> Area of Land/trapezium = ½(a+b)*h

= ½(900+500)*800

= ½(1400)*800

= 700*800 = 560,000ft²

Given that 1acre = 43,560ft²

x acre = 560,000ft²

x = 560,000*1 /43,560

x = 12.86 acres

Therefore, number of plants to be planted = 12.86 acres * 40,000 plants = 514,400 plants.

What is the polynomial function if the zeros are -2,3,-4
navik [9.2K]
For the above equation and given zeros of polynomial equation we have;

y=(x+2)(x-3)(x+4)
y=(x^2+2x-3x-6)(x+4)
y=(x^2-x-6)(x+4)
y=(x^3-x^2-6x+4x^2-4x-24)
y=x^3+3x^2-10x-24
Therefore our answer is 3

Hope this helps. Any questions please just ask. Thank you.
