Answer:

ACLU: Gifts to the ACLU allow us the greatest flexibility in our work. While not tax deductible, they advance our extensive litigation, communications and public education programs. They also enable us to advocate and lobby in legislatures at the federal and local level to advance civil liberties. When you make a contribution to the ACLU, you become a “card-carrying” member who takes a stand for civil liberties.

First, the case must be appealled to even make it to the SCOTUS. However, probably the most important condition is that a given case must pose a question about the constitution.

Hi! I hope this helps kinda lol-

So there was this case called tinker vs does Moines. basically it was about students in Des Moines held a meeting in there like house or whatever. They chose to wear black armbands to show their support for the truce in the Vietnam war. But the the principal of Des Moines made a new rule in the school that any students wearing a black armband would be asked to take it off, if they didn’t they would be suspended. On December 16th Mary Beth tinker and Christoper did that same thing and worse arm bands in the color of black. They were sent home. Then John tinker did the same thing and also went home.
The students sued the school for violating the students. Basically sueing them for right of expression and not letting them show their emotion for the war.

Really hoped this helped!
