How many atom are present in a piece of iron that has a mass of 65.0g

Chemistry
1 answer:
harkovskaia [24]2 years ago
8 0

Iron has an atomic mass of 55.845 g/mol, so the amount of iron in 65.0 g is 65.0/55.845 = mol.

Avogadro's law states that in every mole of a substance, there are 6.022 \times 10^{23} particles per mole, so in this case, that means there are (1.16393589)(6.022 \times 10^{23})=\boxed{7.01 \times 10^{23}} \text{ atoms (to 3 sf)}}

Which of the following molecules or ions is polar? (20 POINTS)
inessss [21]

Answer:

All of these three are polar molecules or ions

Explanation:

1) CO3 ^2-

It is a polar ion because it consists of one Oxygen atom and three carbon atoms so there is a substantial electroegativity difference between carbon and Oxygen due to which shared electrons are attracted more towards Oxygen creating partial negative charge on it and less towards carbon creating a partial positive charge on it, which makes the overall ion polar.

2) HCN

HCN is a polar molecule because there is substantial electronegativity difference between Carbon and Hydrogen as well as between Carbon and Nitrogen. Due to this negative charge is induced over Nitrogen because electronegativity of Nitrogen is 3.0 and positive charge on Carbon because its electronegativity is 2.5. The overall molecule is polar.

3) NO3^-1

Nitrate ion is also a polar molecule because there are three atoms of Oxygen and one atom of Nitrogen. There is substantial electronegativity difference between oxygen (3.44) and nitrogen (3.0) due to which partial positive charge is created on Nitrogen and partial negative charge created over three Oxygen atoms. The overall molecule is polar.

Hope it helps!

Which statement is also true of the rearrangement of atoms
qwelly [4]

Answer:

In a chemical change, the atoms in the reactants rearrange themselves and bond together differently to form one or more new products with different characteristics than the reactants. When a new substance is formed, the change is called a chemical change.

When a field is declared static, there will be:
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

B. only one copy of the field in memory

Explanation:

A static method is sort of a description of a class but is not part of the objects that it generates. Crucial: A program may perform a static method without constructing an object first! All other functions (those not static) only occur when they're member of an object. Thus it is necessary to build an object before they could be executed.

Therefore, when an static field is declared static, there will be:

B. only one copy of the field in memory
