The value of x from the given conditions is 35.

The line TV and RI intersect at E.

The measure of IVE=50° and the measure of VIE=70°.

Since, the points V, I and E makes a triangle.

Therefore, the total angle inside the triangle is 180°.

Hence,

∠IVE + ∠VIE + ∠VEI = 180°

50°+70°+ ∠VEI = 180°

∠VEI = 180°-50°-70°

∠VEI = 60°

Also the angles ∠VEI and the angle ∠RET are congruent.

Therefore, ∠VEI = ∠RET

60° = 2x-10

2x = 70

x = 70/2

x = 35.

The lines TV and RI intersect at E. If the measure of IVE=50, the measure of VIE=70 and the measure of RET=2X-10. Then the value of x = 35.

Answer:

 x = 35

Step-by-step explanation:

The angle sum theorem can be used to find the congruent vertical angles RET and IEV. The equation relating these can be solved for x.

Missing angle

The missing angle in triangle IVE is found using the angle sum theorem:

 ∠IVE +∠VIE +∠IEV = 180°

 ∠IEV = 180° -50° -70° = 60°

Vertical angle

Vertical angles RET and IEV are congruent:

 ∠RET = ∠IEV

 2x -10 = 60

 2x = 70 . . . . . . . . add 10

 x = 35 . . . . . . . . divide by 2

Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

0.813

0.500

Step-by-step explanation:

Use binomial probability.

P = nCr p^r q^(n−r)

where n is the number of trials,

r is the number of successes,

p is the probability of success,

and q is the probability of failure (1−p).

In this problem, n = 5, p = 0.5, and q = 0.5.

"At least 2 girls" means r = 2, 3, 4, or 5.

Or, we can use the complement.

P(at least 2 girls) = 1 − P(at most 1 girl)

P(at least 2 girls) = 1 − P(r=0 or r=1)

P(at least 2 girls) = 1 − ₅C₁ (0.5)¹ (0.5)⁵⁻¹ − ₅C₀ (0.5)⁰ (0.5)⁵⁻⁰

P(at least 2 girls) = 1 − 5 (0.5) (0.5)⁴ − 1 (1) (0.5)⁵

P(at least 2 girls) = 1 − 6 (0.5)⁵

P(at least 2 girls) ≈ 0.813

"At most 2 girls" means r = 0, 1, or 2.

P(at most 2 girls) = P(r=0, r=1, or r=2)

P(at most 2 girls) = ₅C₀ (0.5)⁰ (0.5)⁵⁻⁰ + ₅C₁ (0.5)¹ (0.5)⁵⁻¹ + ₅C₂ (0.5)² (0.5)⁵⁻²

P(at most 2 girls) = 1 (1) (0.5)⁵ + 5 (0.5) (0.5)⁴ + 10 (0.5)² (0.5)³

P(at most 2 girls) = 16 (0.5)⁵

P(at most 2 girls) = 0.500

After being rearranged and simplified, which of the following equations could be solved using the quadratic formula?
Alecsey [184]

For this case we must indicate which of the equations shown can be solved using the quadratic formula.

By definition, the quadratic formula is applied to equations of the second degree, of the form:

ax ^ 2+ bx+ c = 0

Option A:

2x ^ 2-3x +10 = 2x + 21

Rewriting we have:

2x ^ 2-3x-2x+ 10-21 = 0\\2x ^ 2-5x-11 = 0

This equation can be solved using the quadratic formula

Option B:

2x ^ 2-6x-7 = 2x ^ 2

Rewriting we have:

2x ^ 2-2x ^ 2-6x-7 = 0\\-6x-7 = 0

It can not be solved with the quadratic formula.

Option C:

5x ^ 2 + 2x-4 = 2x ^ 2

Rewriting we have:

5x ^ 2-2x ^ 2 + 2x-4 = 0\\3x ^ 2 + 2x-4 = 0

This equation can be solved using the quadratic formula

Option D:

5x ^ 3-3x + 10 = 2x ^ 2

Rewriting we have:

5x ^ 3-2x ^ 2-3x + 10 = 0

It can not be solved with the quadratic formula.
