Displacement includes both distance and direction. a. true b. false

Physics

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Displacement can be considered as a distance with direction when an object moves in straight line. Distance is a scalar quantity which means it has only magnitude but lack of direction. Magnitude basically means how far or how long from the initial startup (e.g 7 km) is magnitude.

On the other hand, displacement is a vector quantity which means it has both magnitude and direction. We can use a symbol of negative and positive to determine the direction. Generally, up is positive; down is negative; west is negative and east is positive but it depends on some case where down can be positive (e.g projectile motion) but you can specify or modify how you want your direction to be, make sure to calculate it right though.

Displacement means changes in position which can be expressed as \displaystyle{p_2 -p_1} where \displaystyle{p_2} is final position/destination and \displaystyle{p_1} is initial position/destination. Displacement does include distance but maybe <u>not total distance</u> if we go for a right-triangle distance. However, displacement includes total distance if an object moves in a straight point. (e.g moving to 20 km straight) - both distance and displacement are same in this case.

what characteristic of uranus makes it stand out from all the other jovian planets?
Luba_88 [7]
Jovian planets are also known as gas giants and are the four outer planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Uranus stands out from this group because of the tilt of its axis. Uranus is tilted on its side. Scientists speculate that this tilt may be as a result of a collision with a large body just after the planet was formed. Uranus is tilted 98 degrees compared to earth's 23 degrees.

During the sudden impact of a car accident, a person's neck can experience abnormal forces, resulting in an injury commonly know
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

C) Rear

Explanation:

For better understanding, let me explain first what actually is the Whiplash injury. It usually occurs in the accidents related to vehicles and cause injury in the neck. It happens because of the very forceful, rapid movement of head and neck forward and backward. So unfortunately if there is a sudden impact of car from the rear and if it's velocity changes from 10 to 15 km/h (as the studies show) it will results in the whiplash injuries. So the correct option here is the third one "<em>rear</em>".
