When there is a negative exponent, you switch the side of the fraction it's on. If the negative exponent is the numerator or a whole number, like x^{-9} or \frac{x^{-9} }{3}, you move the exponent and its coefficient to the bottom so that it's part of the denominator, and remove the negative.

x^{-9} = \frac{1}{x^{9} }

\frac{x^{-9} }{3}= \frac{1}{3x^{9} }

If the exponent is on the bottom, or part of the denominator, like \frac{1}{x^{-4} }, we move it to the top and take out the negative.

\frac{1}{x^{-4} } = x^{4}

In our case, the expression is x^{-7}.

So, using our new knowledge of negative exponents, we can take the exponent and put it as a denominator.

x^{-7} = \frac{1}{x^7}

The answer would be the last answer.

hope this helps!

P:-3x + 8x - 5x = x<br><br> q: (3x)(5y) = 15xy<br><br> Which of the following statements is false?
Varvara68 [4.7K]

Answer: Statement p is false.

Step-by-step explanation:

In both cases, we need to isolate the variables:

p: -3*x + 8*x - 5*x = x

   (-3*x - 5*x) + 8*x = x

    -8x + 8*x = x

        0 = x

This will be true only for one value of x, so this is not always true, which means that the statement is false.

q: (3*x)*(5*y) = 15*x*y

let's solve the left side:

  3*x*5*y = 15*x*y

  (3*5)*(x*y) = 15*x*y

   15*x*y = 15*x*y

This is true for every value of x and y, then this statement is true.

V = (3.14) 16 x 9

V = 3.14 x 144

V = 452.16

Hence, the third or C
