A child has an ear canal that is 1. 3 cm long. Sound frequencies in the audible range for the child to have increased hearing sensitivity is 6600 Hz to 19,800 Hz

The shape of the human ear is similar to a pipe that has a closed end and other end is open. Hence,

λ = 4L where L is the length of child's ear

Wavelength, λ = 4 × Length of the ear of the child

                     λ = 4 × 0.013m

                     λ = 0.052m

Frequency is the no. of oscillations per unit time.

The frequency of the sound, ν = c/λ

where c is the speed of sound i.e. 343 m/s

           λ is the wavelength of sound

The child's audible range is equal to

ν = 343/0.052

ν = 6600Hz

We can also say that, ν is 13200 Hz or 19,800 Hz.

In general, the audible range of frequency for human ear is 20Hz to 20,000Hz.

Hence, sound frequencies in the audible range will the child have increased hearing sensitivity is 6600Hz to 19800 Hz.

W boson has +1e or - 1e charge, Z boson has 0 charge.

Leptons have +1e, -1e or 0 charge.

Photons have 0 charge.

Only quarks have a charge of +2/3e or -1/3e of an electron charge.

To be exact, only up-type quarks (Up, Down and Top quarks) have a +2/3e or two thirds of an electron charge.

So the correct answer is D) Quark.

The outside air pressure changes from 1.0 atm to 1.1 atm. The mass density of mercury is 13,534 kg/m3.By how much does mercury i
mezya [45]

Answer:

The mercury in the barometer rises by a height of 0.0764 m = 76.4 cm = 764 mm

Explanation:

The change in pressure is related to the density of fluid and height risen by the fluid through the relation

ΔP = ρgh

ΔP = change in pressure = P₂ - P₁ = 1.1 - 1.0 = 0.1 atm = 0.1 × 101325 Pa = 10132.5 Pa

ρ = density of the fluid = 13,534 kg/m³

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

h = height through which the mercury in barometer rises = ?

10132.5 = 13534 × 9.8 × h

h = (10132.5) ÷ (13534 × 9.8)

h = 0.0763948996 = 0.0764 m = 76.4 cm = 764 mm

Hope this Helps!!!

4. A meter has a resistance of 100 Ω and gives a full scale deflection when it carries a current of 25 μA. (a) What resistor, Rx
frez [133]

Answer:

A=50mΩ

B≅50mΩ

Explanation:

A) To answer this question we have to use the Current Divider Rule. that rule says:

Ix=.\frac{Req}{Rx} *Itotal (1)

Itotal represents the new maximun current, 50mA, Ix is the current going through the 100 ohms resistor, and Req. is the equivalent resitor.

We now have a set of two resistor in parallel, so:

Req.=\frac{1}{\frac{1}{R1}+\frac{1}{R2}  } (2)

where R1 is the resitor we have to calculate, and R2 is the 100 ohms resistor (25 uA).

substituting and rearranging (2)

Req.=\frac{ 100*R1}{R1+100} (3)

Now substituting (3) in (1).

25*10^{-6} =\frac{\frac{ 100*R1}{R1+100}}{100} *50*10^{-3}

solving this, The value of R1 is: 50mΩ

This value of R1 will guaranty that the ammeter full reflection willl be at 50mA.

Given that R2 (100ohm) it too much bigger than 50mΩ, the equivalent resistor will tend to 50mΩ

If you substitude this values on (2) Req. will be 49.97 mΩ.
