The graph of y = x² is transformed to the graph of y = x² - 3x - 10 with these following translations:

  • Shift right of 1.5 units.
  • Shift up of 7.75 units.

<h3>What is a translation?</h3>

A translation is represented by a change in the function graph, according to operations such as multiplication or sum/subtraction either in it’s definition or in it’s domain. Examples are shift left/right or bottom/up, vertical or horizontal stretching or compression, and reflections over the x-axis or the y-axis.

The parent function is:

y = x².

Completing the squares, the translated function can be written as:

x² - 3x - 10 = (x - 1.5)² + 10 - 1.5² = (x - 1.5)² + 7.75.

Hence, the translations are:

  • Shift right of 1.5 units, due to x -> x - 1.5.
  • Shift up of 7.75 units, as y -> y + 7.75.

What value of x will make the equation below true?<br> 5x = 12x – 28
mash [69]
X = 4
First take 12x off both sides, so -7x=-28
The negatives cancel out, so 7x=28
Not find the hcf and divide by that.

What is the arc measure of AEB in degrees
jasenka [17]

Answer:

305 degree

Step-by-step explanation:

As AD and CE are the diameters of circle P, so that they intersect each other at point P.

=> So that ∡CPA and ∡DPE are two vertical angles.

=> ∡CPA = ∡DPE = 93 degree

As we can see, ∡CPA = ∡CPB + ∡BPA =38 + ∡BPA

=> ∡BPA = ∡CPA - 38 = 93 - 38 = 55 degree

As P is the centre of the circle, so that ∡BPA is equal to the measure of the arc AB, equal to 55 degree.

In the circle P, the total measure of arc AEB and arc AB are 360 degree

=> arc AEB + arc AB = 360

=> arc AEB = 360 - arc AB = 360 - 55 = 305

So that the measure of arc AEB is 305 degree
