The theme of growing up in The Quest of the Silver Fleece is developed throughout the text because the boy starts out <u>D. excited</u> to be on a new adventure but still feels lost at the end.

<h3>What is the theme of The Quest of the Silver Fleece?</h3>

The theme of <em>The Quest of the Silver Fleece</em> reviewed the difficulties posed by racism and exploitation.

In W.E.B. Du Bois' The Quest of the Silver Fleece, the swamp represents freedom, wildness, joyfulness, and love, but also includes fear, jealousy, ignorance, and poverty fostered by racism, slavery, and the tenant.

At first, Bles was excited to be in Washington and mingle with the politicians but he did not find peace of mind there.  He was forced to return to reality represented by Zora, his swamp girl since he could not embrace the corrupt culture of politics and corporations.

Thus, we can conclude that the theme is about how the boy starts out excited but feels lost at the end.

I need this solved please
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

x = 23

y = 128

Step-by-step explanation:

Theorem:

The measure of an exterior angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the measures of its remote interior angles.

98 = 2x + 3x - 17

115 = 5x

x = 23

Angles 3x - 17 and y form a linear pair, so they are supplementary.

3x - 17 + y = 180

3(23) - 17 + y = 180

69 - 17 + y = 180

52 + y = 180

y = 128

Answer:

  • See below

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) is quadratic function and g(x) is linear (since AP in the right column).

<u>Find the equation of the function f(x), use the points on the graph:</u>

  • f(x) = ax² + bx + c
  • c = 5 as the y-intercept is (0, 5)
  • a(-1)² + b(-1) + 5 = 0 ⇒ a + 5 = b
  • a(5²) + b(5) + 5 = 0 ⇒ 25a + 5b + 5 = 0 ⇒ 25a + 5a + 25 + 5= 0 ⇒ a = -1 ⇒ b= 4

<u>The function is:</u>

  • f(x) = -x² + 4x + 5

Find the equation of g(x)

<u>Find the slope of g(x):</u>

  • m = (1 - 7)/(-1 + 4) = -2

<u>Use (-4, 7) to find its equation:</u>

  • y - 7 = -2(x + 4)
  • y = -2x + 7 - 8
  • y = -2x - 1
<h3>See the required comparison below</h3>

<u>The y-intercepts:</u>

  • f(x) ⇒ 5,
  • g(x) ⇒ -1
  • -5 < - 1

<u>Values at x = 3:</u>

  • f(3) = -3² + 4(3) + 5 = 8
  • g(3) = -2(3) - 1 = - 7
  • 8 > 7

<u>Average rate of change in the interval [2,5]:</u>

  • f(x) ⇒ (0 - 9)/(5 - 2) = -3
  • g(x) ⇒ (-11 + 5)/ (5 - 2) = -2
  • -3 < -2

<u>Max of function in the interval [-5, 5];</u>

  • f(x) ⇒ 9, vertex of the function
  • g(x) ⇒ g(-5) = -2(-5) - 1 = 9, taken the least point of x as it is a decreasing function
  • 9 = 9

A pharmaceutical company receives large shipments of aspirin tablets. The acceptance sampling plan is to randomly select and tes
Pavel [41]

Answer:

0.818

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the shipment has a ton of aspirin tablets, we can assume that we pick 13 of them <em>with</em> <em>reposition, </em>because the probability shoudn't change dramatically from the probability of picking without reposition if we do so.

We call D the amount of defective tablets. If we assume that we pick the tablets with reposition, then we obtain that D is a random variable of Binomial distribution with parameters 13 and 0.6 (the probability of picking a defective tablet).

We want D to be at most one. To calculate the probability of that event we add up the probability of D being equal to 0 and the probability of D being equal to one. Since D is binomial, we have

  • P(D = 0) = (1-0.06)^{13} = 0.447
  • P(D = 1) = {13 \choose 1} * 0.06^1 * (1-0.06)^{12} = 13*0.06*0.94^{12} = 0.371

We conclude that

P(D \leq 1) = P(D = 0) + P(D = 1) = 0.447+0.371 = 0.818

Hence, the shipment will be accepted with probability 0.818

Whats the value of number 3 in 6,035
Sergio039 [100]
<span>When writing a number, the values that given to the numbers are as follows, starting from the right: ones, tens, hundreds, thousands, ten thousands, etc. The three is located on the second position from the right, meaning it is in the tens place. The significance of this is that it has 3 tens, which means its value is 30.I hope that my answer is helpful! Let me know if you need something more :)</span>
