use pythagorean theorem.

the formula is a^2 + b^2 = c^2  

x^2 means squared, or power to the 2nd btw.

the slope part is called the hypotenuse, i believe that's how you spell it and the 2 other values are just called legs. a and b are legs in this situation and c is hypotenuse.

so, you want to put it in an equation.

24^2 + b^2 (unknown value) = 26^2

24 squared is 576, 26 squared is 676.

576 + b^2 = 676

now minus them

you get 100,

now you have to find the square root of 100, after that.

square root of 100 is 10.

10 is your answer. hope this helped.
