When they say the other 2 sides are consecutive integers then --> x = x + 1 , where 'x + 1' is the hypotenuse.

(x + 1)² = x² + 5²

x² + 2x + 1 = x² + 25 --> Both x² get cancelled.

2x + 1 = 25 ---> 2x = 24 ---> x = 12

The other leg is 12 m

The hypotenuse is 13 m hope this helped you.

The volume of the rectangular prism is 240 cubic centimeters. A rectangular pyramid has the same length, width,and height as a p
LuckyWell [14K]
The volume of the pyramid would be 80 cubic centimeters. The reason for this is because the formula for volume of a pyramid is 1/3bh, so if all the dimensions are the same for both figures, just divide the volume of the prism by three to find the volume of the pyramid. If you do this 240÷3=80 or the volume of the pyramid.

A tree casts a shadow 27 m long. At the same time, the shadow cast by a 66-cm tall statue is 56 cm long. Find the height of the
Nata [24]
\frac{height _{1} }{shadow_{1}} =  \frac{height _{2} }{shadow_{2}}

\frac{height _{1} }{27m} = \frac{66cm}{56cm}

\frac{height _{1} }{2700cm} = \frac{66cm}{56cm}

2700*66=56*h _{1}

178200=56h _{1}

3182.1cm=h _{1}

\frac{3182.1cm}{1000cm} = 3.2m
