It is impossible to use electrolysis for displacing alkali metals from their salt solutions by any other element because of their highly electropositive nature.

Because hydrogen ions discharge at the cathode instead of alkali metal ions due to the high discharge potential of alkali metals, the aqueous solutions of their salts cannot be employed for electrolytic extraction. However, alkali metals can be deposited by employing Hg as the cathode. The amalgam formed when the alkali metal and mercury mix is challenging to remove. Therefore, the only effective approach is the electrolysis of their fused salts, which are typically chlorides. Usually, another metal chloride is added to lower the temperature at which they fuse.

Britta traveled 1250 km on her road trip and used 209 L of gasoline, filling her tank atan average of 1.14 euros per liter. Pier
icang [17]

Answer:

 • Britta paid more per kilometer driven

Explanation:

1) Britta:

 • Distance traveled: 1,250 Km
 • Gasoline used: 209 liter
 • Gasoline price: 1.23 euros / liter

Cost per km = total cost of gasoline / distance traveled

Cost per km = gasoline used × gasoline price / distance traveled

Cost per km = 209 liter × 1.14 (euro / liter) / 1,250 km = 0.19 euro / km

2) Pierce:

 • Distance traveled: 1,405 km
 • Gasoline used: 175 liter
 • Gasoline price = 1.23 euros / liter

Cost per km = 175 liter × 1.23 (euro / liter) / 1,405 km = 0.15 euro / km

3) Comparison:

 • 0.19 > 0.15 ⇒ Britta paid more per kilometer driven

Elan Coil [88]
The density of a substance tells you the mass of exactly one unit of volume of that substance. This essentially means that density can be used as a conversion factor to go from the mass of a sample to the volume it occupies, or vice versa. This means that every milliliter of the substance has a total mass of 1.50 grams
