A physical change is when a substance experiences a change in its physical characteristics.

For instance, cutting a diamond or a piece of glass

A chemical transformation is one in which one or more new compounds are created.

Iron rusting, for instance.

Both reversible and irreversible physical change are possible.

On the other hand, chemical change is a change that can never be reversed.

a) Electrolysis of molten MgCl2 involves chemical change since new materials are created and MgCl2 cannot be recovered.

The process of electrolysis involves passing an electric current through a substance to cause a chemical change.

rosijanka [135]
A C and D are all correct, Helium and Hydrogen only have a 1s orbital, and helium has 2 protons, while hydrogen has 1, and finally Hydrogen has no neutrons while helium has 2. Helium does not however have 8 valence electrons as the 1s orbital can only hold 2, meaning B is the “correct” (false) answer.
