The dimensions of the rectangle are length is 6.7 inches and its width is 3.7 inches.

What is the perimeter of a rectangle?

The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is P = 2L + 2w,

where l is the length and w is the width.

We know that

21 = 2L + 2W

and

L = W + 3

then:

21 = 2(W+3) + 2W

21 = (2*W + 2*3) + 2W

21 = 2W + 6 + 2W

21 = 4W + 6

21 - 6 = 4W

15 = 4W

W = 15/4

W = 3.7

Now, L = W+3

L = 3.7+ 3

L = 6.7

Therefore, the dimensions of the rectangle are length is 6.7 inches and its width is 3.7 inches.

The complete question is

"The formula for the perimeter of a rectangle is P = 21 + 2w, where l is the length and w is the width. A rectangle has a perimeter of 21 inches. Find its dimensions if its length is 3 inches greater than its width."

pochemuha

Answer:

63 kids

Step-by-step explanation:

We can add up the number of students who went home sick, hiked, and swam to find the total amount of people.

4+18+41 = 63

Therefore, 63 kids started their day at Camp Sunshine.

I get that feeling I oversimplified this one, let me know if I did. I'm not sure if this is right.
