Based only on the change in glucose oxidation, what should happen to the concentration of atp in the cells exposed to dnp?

ATP concentration should be greater in cells treated with DNP because more oxidation of glucose is correlated with increased ATP synthesis.

Dinitrophenol (DNP) is a chemical that acts as an uncoupling agent, making the inner mitochondrial membrane leaky to protons.

More glucose gets broken down in DNP-treated cells. This means that the rate of glucose oxidation increases in the presence of DNP. Dinitrophenol disrupts the H+ gradient reducing ATP synthesis. Under these conditions, much of our food that we eat could not be used for ATP synthesis are we lose weight.

DNP allows hydrogen protons to cross the membrane freely. Therefore there is no true proton gradient and while ATP production can still occur (some hydrogens can still go through ATP synthase), it will be at a much lower rate and much less efficient.

Nitrogen is important
uranmaximum [27]

Plants and animals could not live without nitrogen. It is an important part of many cells and processes such as amino acids, proteins, and even our DNA. It is also needed to make chlorophyll in plants, which plants use in photosynthesis to make their food and energy.

Nitrogen is an important component of many essential structural, genetic and metabolic compounds in plant cells. It is also an elementary constituent of numerous important organic compounds including amino acids, proteins, nucleic acids, enzymes, and the chlorophyll molecule.

Of all the essential nutrients, nitrogen is the one that is most often limiting for crop growth. Nitrogen is the nutrient which normally produces the greatest yield response in crop plants, promoting rapid vegetative growth and giving the plant a healthy green color.

Vinvika [58]

The best answer is; False

Fresh water found in soil and rock layers below Earth’s surface is not called deep water. It is known as ground water. Groundwater is the water that exists below the earth's surface in the cracks and spaces in soil, rock and sand. Groundwater flows to the earth surface naturally and discharges to water bodies such as rivers, lakes and wetlands. Groundwater is usually extracted for municipal, industrial and agricultural uses by extraction wells.
