Jonathan is riding a bicycle and encounters a hill of height h . At the base of the hill, he is traveling at a speed vi. When he

reaches the top of the hill, he is traveling at a speed vf. Jonathan and his bicycle together have a mass m . Ignore friction in the bicycle mechanism and between the bicycle tires and the road.(a) What is the total external work done on the system of Jonathan and the bicycle between the time he starts up the hill and the time he reaches the top?

TheThe potential energy will be

∆U → (1/2mvi²-1/2mvf²) -mgh-mgh .

What do you mean by potential energy and why it is called potential?

Potential energy is energy stored that depends upon the relative position of various parts of a system. Any object that is lifted from its resting position has stored energy therefore it is called potential energy because it has a potential to do work when released.

Mass of system = m

Initial Velocity = vi

Final velocity = Vf

Yi = 0, Yf = h

Now , total work done on system is,

Wg = Fgh

here , Fg = mg

Wg = mgh

Now , potential energy is converted into kinetic energy .

∆ U = -(∆K+ ∆U)

∆U = (1/2mVi²-1/2mVf²) -mgh

Draw on a piece of paper the uniform magnetic field directed out of a page, it means towards you. Magnetic field is uniform in s
Papessa [141]

Answer:

A. Counterclockwise

Explanation:

Electric fields can be created in vacuum space by variable magnetic fields. If we focus in the Lenz's law we have

\int Edl=-\frac{d\Phi_{B}}{dt}

and by taking into account the right hand rule we deduce the direction of the circulation of the field

I hope this is useful for you

If two objects with different masses are pushing each other, which exerts the greater force?
Sedaia [141]

Newton's 3rd law of motion says that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

This means that the smaller mass exerts a force on the larger mass that is equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to the force that the larger mass exerts on the smaller mass.

When a car comes to a stop the car's brakes create an?
yawa3891 [41]
Increased pressure to stop the movement. The brake reduces the acceleration of the engine. The brake absorbs energy at the wheels when it is applied to moving vehicles. It applies a counter torque to the engine. The friction force created by the break stops the vehicle.
