distance, speed, and time two cyclists, 90 mi apart, start riding toward each other at the same time. one cycles twice as fast a

s the other. if they meet 2 h later, at what average speed is each cyclist traveling?

Based on the distance between the cyclists and the time they meet, the average speed of each cyclist is:

  • Cyclist A = 30 mph
  • Cyclist B = 60 mph
<h3 /><h3>What speed are the cyclists going?</h3>

Assume that Cyclist A is going at x speed. That would meant that Cyclist B is going at 2x speed.

The formula for x is:

2x + (2 x 2x) = 90

6x = 90

x = 90 / 6

= 15 mph

The speed of the first cyclist is therefore:

= 2 x 15

= 30 mph

With Cyclist B going twice as fast, the speed is:

= 30 x 2

= 60 mph

The mass of a hypothetical planet is 1/100 that of Earth and its radius is 1/4 that of Earth. If a person weighs 600 N on Earth,
omeli [17]

To solve this problem we will apply the Newtonian concept of gravitational acceleration produced by a planet. This relationship is given by:

g = \frac{GM}{r^2}

Where,

G = Gravitational Universal Constant

M = Mass of Earth

r = Radius

The values given are based on the constants of the earth, so they can be expressed as

M_p = \frac{1}{100} M_e

r_p = \frac{1}{4} r_e

The relationship of gravity would then be given:

g_e = \frac{GM_e}{r_e^2}

The relationship with the new planet, from the gravity of the earth would be given

g_p = \frac{GM_p}{r_p^2}

g_p = \frac{G(1/100)M_e}{(1/4 r_e)^2}

g_p = \frac{GM_e 16}{100 r_e^2}

g_p = 0.16 \frac{GM_e}{r_e^2}

g_p = 0.16g_e

The relationship with the weight of the earth would be given as:

W_e = m*g_e = 600N

W_p = m*g_p = m(0.16g_p)

W_p = (m*g_p)(0.16)

W_p = 600*0.16

W_p = 96N

Therefore the weigh on this planet would be 96N

Does the North Pole receive more daylight hours during Winter or Summer?
MrMuchimi

Answer:

Summer begins in the Northern Hemisphere on June 20 or 21 when the North Pole is tilted a full 23.5° toward the sun. On this day, the Northern Hemisphere has the most hours of daylight, while the Southern Hemisphere has the least hours of daylight.

Tina and her puppy are tugging on a rope, each pulling on opposite ends.
anyanavicka [17]
Work is done when the ‘object moves in the same direction as the force’ an example being a man walking up a flight of stairs carrying a box of weight.

Work is not done when the direction of the applied force and the direction in which the object moves are PERPENDICULAR to each other. An example being A man carrying a load while walking, no work is done on the load in the upward direction as the load is only moving horizontally.

Thus the answer is whenever she pulls the puppy towards her
