Ba(s) + H₂O(l) = Ba(OH)2 + H_{2}

Barium reacts readily with water to form barium hydroxide that is Ba(OH)2 and hydrogen gas (H2).

What is redox reaction ?

A change in the substrate's oxidation state occurs during redox reactions. Oxidation is the process of losing electrons or increasing an element's oxidation state. Reductions are defined as either adding electrons or decreasing the oxidation state of an object or its atoms. The most frequent oxidation-reduction (redox) reactions are combinations, breakdown, displacement, and combustion.

The simplest illustration of a redox reaction is H2 + F2 = 2HF. Here fluorine and hydrogen peroxide were mixed to create two molecules of hydrogen fluoride.

The air in a 4.00 L tank has a pressure of 1.20 atm . What is the final pressure, in atmospheres, when the air is placed in tank
stellarik [79]

Answer:

P₂ = 1.92 atm

Explanation:

According to the boyle's law:

The pressure of given amount of gas at constant temperature and number of moles of gas is inversely proportional to the volume.

P₁V₁= P₂V₂

Given data:

Initial volume = 4.00 L

Initial pressure = 1.20 atm

Final volume = 2500 mL

Final pressure = ?

Solution:

First of all we will convert the volume into litter.

2500 mL × 1L/1000 mL = 2.5 L

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

P₂ = P₁V₁ /V₂

1.20 atm×4.00 L = P₂ ×2.5 L

P₂ = 1.20 atm×4.00 L/ 2.5 L

P₂ = 4.8 atm. L/ 2.5 L

P₂ = 1.92 atm

How many grams are in 2.5 moles of Carbon
Jet001 [13]
According to the periodic table, carbon's molar mass is 12.011 grams per mole (that's the small number under the element). So, just multiply like this to get the answer:

(2.5\ mol\ C)(\frac{grams\ C}{12.011\ mol\ C})=0.20814\ g\ C

So, there are approximately 0.208 grams in 2.5 moles of carbon.
