Before arc welding was developed, a displacement reaction involving aluminum and iron(III) oxide was commonly used to produce mo

lten iron (the thermite process). This reaction was used, for example, to connect sections of iron rails for train tracks. Calculate the mass of molten iron produced when 1.50 kg of aluminum reacts with 25.0 mol of iron(III) oxide.

The mass of iron produced is 2.79kg

<h3>Steps</h3>

molecular equation

2Al (s)+ Fe2O3 (s)--> 2Fe (s) + Al2O3 (s)

no of moles of  Fe2O3 is 25.0 mol

no of moles of Al =(1.5kg Al)(1000g / 1kg)(1molAl / 26.98g Al)

=55.60mol Al

the ratio between aluminium and Fe2O3 is 2:1

The mass of iron produced

mass of fe= (25mol Fe2O3)(2mol Fe/ 1mol Fe2O3)(55.85g Fe / 1mol Fe)

=2792.5g Fe

The mass of iron produced is 2.79kg

<h3>What is displacement response and what are two examples?</h3>

A displacement reaction is a chemical process in which a less reactive element displaces a more reactive element from its compound. iron sulphate and copper are produced from a copper sulfate solution. zinc sulphate and copper are produced from a solution of copper sulfate.

if 28.5 g of calcium hydroxide is dissolved in enough water to make 185g of solution what is the percent by mass of calcium hydr
DENIUS [597]

The percent by mass of calcium hydroxide in the solution : 15.41%

<h3>Further explanation</h3>

The concentration of a substance can be expressed in several quantities such as moles, percent (%) weight/volume,), molarity, molality, parts per million (ppm) or mole fraction. The concentration shows the amount of solute in a unit of the amount of solvent.

Mass of solute (Ca(OH₂-Calcium hydroxide) : 28.5

Mass of solution = 185 g

\tt \%mass=\dfrac{mass~solute}{mass~solution}\times 100\%\\\\\%mass=\dfrac{28.5~g}{185~g}\times 100\%\\\\\%mass=15.41\%

A 10-ft moving truck has a volume capacity of 402 cubic feet, which is equivalent to 1.138 x 10^7 milliliters. What
ELEN [110]

Answer: The mass of silver is 1.19 X 10^14 M g

Explanation: The volume of the truck is 402 cubic feet or 1.138 x 10⁷ mm.

The density of silver is 10.49 g/mL.

We need to find the mass of silver that will fit in this moving truck. Density equals mass divided by volume. So,

<h2>d= m/v where m= mass m= d x V</h2><h2>M=10.49 g/mL X 1.138 X 10∧7 mL</h2>

M=119376200 g  1 gram=10⁻⁶ Megagram 119376200= 1.19 X 10^14 Mg hence the mass of silver is 1.19 X 10^14 M g hopefully this will help you please mark me as brainlist

In what ratio will the iron iii ion and the oxide ion form an ionic compound
Mice21 [21]
The oxidation state of iron may be 2,3 or 6 and the most common is 3 & this is our case, Fe^3+ can react with Oxygen (O2), which have fixed oxidation state (2), to form Fe2O3.
Two ions of iron and 3 ions of Oxygen with 2:3 ratio.
