A pregnant woman needs an update on her immunizations. The nurse would ensure that the woman receives a Hepatitis B vaccination.

The Hepatitis B vaccine is safe and effective. it is recommended for the age group from newborn to those 18 years. It is also advised for adults living with diabetes and those at high risk for infection due to several reasons. This vaccine ensures lifetime protection against preventable chronic liver disease. It is also known as the anti-cancer vaccine.

If not already vaccinated with the hepatitis B vaccine, Pregnant women should get vaccinated with the same. It is safe to be administered during pregnancy. However, even if the mother receives it, her baby has to get it after birth.
