The acid component neutralizes any base that is added. The base component neutralizes any acid that is added. They can't neutralize each other because they would just be trading hydrogen ions, with no net reaction.

What is called Hydrogen ions?

When a hydrogen atom acquires or loses an electron, a hydrogen ion is produced. The only time a positively charged hydrogen ion (or proton) is observed alone is when it is in a gaseous condition in a place that is almost particle-free. The bare hydrogen ion cannot live freely in solution due to its extremely high charge density, which is around 2 1010 times that of a sodium ion. Instead, it rapidly hydrates or binds, with other molecules. The IUPAC suggests using the word "hydrogen ion" to refer to all hydrogen ions and their isotopes. Positively charged ions and negatively charged ions can be divided into two different classes based on the ion's charge.

Given the equilibrium constants for the following two reactions at a 298K:NiO(s) + H2(g) ⇌ Ni(s) + H2O(g) Kc=40NiO(s) +CO(g) ⇌ N
shusha [124]

Answer:

The value  is  K_C =  \frac{40}{600}

Explanation:

From the question

   The equation given is

            NiO(s) + H2(g) ⇌ Ni(s) + H2O(g) Kc=40          (1)

            NiO(s) +CO(g) ⇌ Ni(s) +CO2(g) Kc=600         (2)

Generally the reverse of the second equation as shown below

            Ni(s) +CO2(g) ⇌  NiO(s) + CO(g)                 (3)

The equilibrium constant becomes    K_c  ' =  \frac{1}{600}

Now adding 1 and 3 we obtain

      NiO(s) + H2(g)+ Ni(s) +CO2(g) ⇌ Ni(s) + H2O(g)+NiO(s) + CO(g)

               CO2(g) + H2(g) ⇌ CO(g) + H2O(g)

Hence the equilibrium constant for the resulting equation is mathematically evaluated as

           K_C =  K_c' *  K_c

=>       K_C =  \frac{1}{600}  *  40

=>         K_C =  \frac{40}{600}

Draw the location of the epicenter of an earthquake in Carmona, Silang,GMA Cavite if the hypothetical distance of epicenter in C
stellarik [79]

The kinematics and geometry can locate the point where the earthquake occurs: Point of interception of the three circles

The earthquakes occur due to a sudden movement of two tectonic plates, this movement produces longitudinal and transverse waves with different speeds, called S and P waves. The speed of the waves is constant, so we can use the uniform kinematic movement relationship

           v = d / t

Where v is the speed of the wave, d is the distance and t is the time.

The speed of the two types of waves is known, they depend on the material and type of wave varies between 4 and 7 km / S, the time is measured in the seismometers, for which we can calculate the distance.

For a seismometer, the calculated distance corresponds to a circle, so to locate the epicenter of the earthquake we must have a minimum of three earthquakes, the point of intersection of the circles is the place of occurrence of the event, see the attachment for a diagram of the process.

In conclusion, with kinematics and geometry we can locate where the earthquake occurs: Point of interception of the three circles
