We colonize Mars by making environment suitable for our survival.

How you would colonize Mars?

We colonize Mars by making environment suitable for our survival. We should make a chamber for living and colonizing on the planet Mars because the environment of Mars is harmful for our body and health. We should exploit resources present on the Mars and make the soil suitable for the plantation of crops so that we can produce our own food.

The purpose of living on the Mars to discover the hidden sources of the planet so that the coming generation can use it when they wants to colonize there.

If all the sources needed for good living is available on Mars, I will not go back to the earth.

rusak2 [61]
The correct option is A, FEEDING HABIT AND MIGRATION. From the passage given above, it can be seen that seagulls are scavengers, they usually eat from garbage dumps while wild geese eat seeds and insects, thus they differ in feeding habit. In term of migration, seagulls does not follow seasonal pattern of annual migration while wild geese do. These are the contrasts between the two birds.

A species of elm has winged-seeds. How would biologists explain how a species of elm with winged-seeds evolved from an ancestral
dimaraw [331]

Answer:

In an ancestral elm species, mutations gave rise to the phenotypic trait "winged-seeds". Subsequently, selection favored elm plants with winged-seeds that diverged over time to become a separate species

Explanation:

A mutation is a genetic change in the DNA sequence. In general, mutations have a negative impact on the fitness of the individual (i.e., mutations are generally deleterious) and therefore they disappear from the population. However, there are situations where mutations are beneficial and confer an adaptive advantage, thereby increasing their frequency in the population. In this case, mutations associated with the formation of winged-seeds conferred an adaptive advantage (i.e., higher seed dispersal capacity) to individuals who had this phenotypic trait, thereby these individuals had more chances to reproduce and pass their genes to the next generation. Eventually, Elm plants with winged-seeds accumulated sufficient genetic differences to prevent interbreeding, leading to the formation of a separate species.

What is the purpose of using control groups in an experiment
Brums [2.3K]
Typically you use experimental and control groups in an experiment. a control group is like the default, and the experimental is the one you actually experiment with.

for example if i run an experiment on the effects of food dye on a leaf stem, i’ll have my control group (the ones without food dye) to compare to the experimental group (the ones with food dye)

the control group is a way for scientists to see how an experiment truly affected or altered the subject
