The coordinates of centroid bounded by the curves is (5/3, 7.5/3).

In this question,

The curves are y = 5/x, y = 0, x = 1, x = 2

These curves are plotted in the graph as shown below.

From the graph, these curves intersect at 3 points. They are

  • The curves y = 5/x and x = 1 intersects at (1,5)
  • The curves y = 5/x and x = 2 intersects at (2,2.5)
  • The curves y = 0 and x = 2 intersects at (2,0)

The centroid of a planar geometric region (X,Y) is the arithmetic mean of all the points contained in the region.

Let X be the x coordinate of the centroid and Y be the y coordinate of the centroid.

Then, X = (1 + 2 + 2)/3

⇒ X = 5/3

Y = (5 + 2.5 + 0)/3

⇒ Y = 7.5/3

Thus the coordinates of centroid bounded by the curves is (5/3, 7.5/3).

Calculate the estimate of the mean height of the students in cm and explain your answer
Zolol [24]

Step-by-step explanation:

we find the average height of each height first,

t¹= (120+124)/2

=244/2

=122

t²= (124+128)/2

t²= 252/2

t²= 126

t³= (128+132)/2

t³= 260/2

t³= 130

t⁴= (132+136)/2

t⁴= 268/2

t⁴ =134

t⁵= (136+140)/2

t⁵= 276/2

t⁵= 138

so multiplying each height by its frequency we can find the total height, so we have..

total height= (122*7)+(126*8)+(130*13)+(134*9)+(138*3)

= 854+1008+1690+1206+414

= 5172

mean height = total height/total frequency

= 5172/40

=129.3

Can someone tell me how to solve translations please?
Sophie [7]

Step-by-step explanation:

Hey there!

Here; The coordinates are ; H(-4,-2), G(-5,3), F(-2,1)

The translation P(x,y) = P'(X+7,y)

Use same formula.

H(-4,-2) -------> P'(3,-2)

G(-5,3)-----------> G'(2,3)

F(-2,1)------------> F'(5,1)
