Malcolm was released from prison and sought money, otherwise known as Damages from the city whose police department had illegally abused him.

In Law, damages refers to monetary compensations which demanded from a claimant as compensation for any physical injury or loss that may have been caused to him/her.
In other for a claimant to demand for damages, he/she must present evidence that proves that there is a breach of his/her rights which must have caused the injury or loss.
