The levels of SpO2, that is the levels of oxygen saturation should be greater than 90 is the best indicator of treatment success for Carbon monoxide poisoning.
When a person is poisoned with CO, which is a colorless, odorless, and poisonous gas could easily lower the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood rapidly.
This could make the condition of victim fatal and initially as a primary treatment, the patient should be treated under hyperbaric oxygen chamber and complete supply of Oxygen is to be provided to the patient.
The levels of COHgb should be checked so that the extent of poisoning could be understood and treatment could be done. After 3-4 hours of the treatment the patient's Oxygen Saturation levels, SpO2 levels should be greater than 90 and all the vital signs such as BP, glucose levels and pressure levels should be normal.
Only in such case the treatment is considered to be successful.
