For this kind of problem is nneded to replace a letter b by a numerical value. Thne find the missing variable x .

then replace b = 5 in equality

4(5x - 3) = 8 ( x-2)

now eliminate parenthesis, by PEMDAS method

4•5x - 3•4 = 8x - 8•2

20 x - 12 = 8x - 16

now reorganize letters and numerical values

20x - 8x = -16 + 12

12x = -4

then finally x= -4/12 = -1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define

-6(t + 2) = 18

Step 2: Solve for t

  1. [Distributive Property] Distribute -6:                                                             -6t - 12 = 18
  2. [Addition Property of Equality] Add 12 on both sides: -6t = 30
  3. [Division Property of Equality] Divide -6 on both sides: t = -5

The common ratio of a g.p is 3. given that the 5th term is greater than the first term by 400 what is the fifth term of the g.p.
QveST [7]

Answer:

405.

Step-by-step explanation:

First term = a1

5th tern = a1 r^4

So a1r^4 - a1  = 400       r = 3 so:

3^4 * a1 - a1 = 400

a1(81-1) = 400

80a1 = 400

a = 5

Therefore the fifth term =  5* 3^4

= 405.
