Let the total earnings be = x

Jennifer and Chris split the earnings in the ratio 3:2

Jennifer earned = $48

\frac{3x}{5}=48

3x=240

x=80

Hence total earnings are $80

(a) Chris earning is = \frac{2x}{5}=\frac{2*80}{5}=32

Hence, Chris earns $32

(b) Jennifer spends 30% of her earnings on a book.

So, price of the book = \frac{30}{100}\times48

Price of book = $14.40

(c)  Jennifer also buys a magazine for = $5.40

So, total money Jennifer spent on book and magazine = 14.40+5.40=19.80

Money left with Jennifer = 48-19.80= $28.20

In fractions = \frac{28.20}{48}

or multiplying the numerator and denominator by 10, we get

\frac{282}{480}=\frac{47}{80}

(d) Let the original price of the shirt = x

reduction percentage on x= 40%

Price paid after reduction = 16.80

\frac{40x}{100}=16.80

40x=1680

x=42

Hence, the original price of the shirt was $42.

PLEASE HELP WILL MARK BRAINLIEST NO FAKE ANSWERS OR WILL BE REPORTED
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

height is 15

Y = L = Length

therefore 15y = (-x^2) +(300/20)

Step-by-step explanation:

15 = -x^2 +(300/20)

is the same as;

15 = (300/20) - (x^2)

we just add y to 15 and that can represent a division for x

y = L

Where area cm^2 can be shown as 300 as 15 x 20 = 300

when we divide by length we get the height as asked in the question.

Question 6(Multiple Choice Worth 1 points)
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

O The value of f(2) is smaller than the value of f(1).

Step-by-step explanation:

First, let's solve for both. When the problem says f(1) or f(2), this just means that the x value is equal to that. So:
f(1) = -5(1)^2 + 2(1) + 9 = 6
f(2) = -5(2)^2 + 2(2) + 9 = -7
Since f(1) = 6 and f(2) = -7, we know that f(1) is greater than f(2). Therefore, the value of f(2) is smaller than the value of f(1)

Solve for x. 50 = x^2 Show your work.
Tanzania [10]

50 = x^2

To isolate x you need to do the opposite of an exponent, which would be square root.

\sqrt{50} = x Next solve what the square root of 50 is[tex]5\sqrt{2} = x

That is the exact form, in other words your answer, if teacher is looking for a decimal, it would be

7.07 = x
