The solution of the logarithmic equation is approximately 5.66 .

The logarithm is a simpler way to write a exponential equation.

The exponential equation nˣ = b is written as logₙ b = x ( read as logarithm of b to the base of n is equal to x).

The various properties of logarithm are:

 • log x+ log y= log x y
 • log x - log y= log(x/y)
 • log xⁿ=n log x

The given equation is :

log₂ x = 2.5

This equation is of the form logₐ b=n

We know that from the properties of logarithm logₐ b=n is equivalent to aⁿ=b.

So the given equation can be written as

x=2^{2.5}

Solving we get

x=5.6568....

or, x≈5.66

Therefore the logarithm equation has a solution for x where the value of x is approximately 5.66.

Using SohCahToa, you’ll find you have the opposite and adjacent, ao, so you’ll use tangent. Opp/adj is x/35 in this situation. You’ll take tan56 • 35 which is 51.9. That should be your answer.

What does a residual value of –4.5 mean in reference to the line of best fit?
Step2247 [10]

Answer:

The residual value is the difference between the observed value (from the scatter plot) and the predicted value (from the line of best fit).

Step-by-step explanation:

The residual value is the difference between the observed value (from the scatter plot) and the predicted value (from the line of best fit).

Residual Value = Observed Value - Predicted Value

Since the residual value of -4.5 is negative, we can say the predicted value is larger than the observed value. In other words, the line of best fit is "above" the scatter plot point in that specific point.
