President Herbert Clark Hoover was the American President that believed that American individualism would get America through the depression.

What is Hoover's individualism?

President Herbert Clark Hoover used the term 'rugged individualism' to refer to America's entrepreneurship, free enterprise, and the use of volunteerism as means of civic intervention.

While citing US history in defining 'rugged individualism', he explained that the American System has been developed by the country's history of freedom, self-governance, and individualism.

According to him, 'rugged individualism' would be the primary point to come out of the Great Depression and make America great.

Hoover coined the term on October 22, 1928, in his final campaign speeches at Madison Square Garden in New York City to strike three core points: individual freedom, the elimination of poverty, and success and happiness.

President Hoover was the 31st president of the United States of America from 1929 to 1933. He ruled under the Republican Party.

President Herbert Clark Hoover believed that America would come out of the Great Depression if it would embrace individualism.
