Answer:

\frac{9}{5}

Step-by-step explanation:

the slope is the change in y over the change in x

From the points given, your y's are 10 and 1.

From the points given, your x's are 7 and 2.  To find the changes subtract them.

\frac{10-1}{7-2} = \frac{9}{5}

The function h(t) = –16t2 + 96t + 6 represents an object projected into the air from a cannon. The maximum height reached by the
jolli1 [7]
If you've started pre-calculus, then you know that the derivative of  h(t)
is zero where h(t)  is maximum.

The derivative is            h'(t) = -32 t  +  96 .

At the maximum ...        h'(t) = 0

                                       32 t = 96 sec

                                           t  =  3 sec .
___________________________________________

If you haven't had any calculus yet, then you don't know how to
take a derivative, and you don't know what it's good for anyway.

In that case, the question GIVES you the maximum height.
Just write it in place of  h(t), then solve the quadratic equation
and find out what  't'  must be at that height.

                                       150 ft = -16 t²  +  96  t  +  6

Subtract 150ft from each side:    -16t²  +  96t  -  144  =  0 .

Before you attack that, you can divide each side by  -16,
making it a lot easier to handle:

                                                         t²  -  6t  +  9  =  0

I'm sure you can run with that equation now and solve it.
The solution is the time after launch when the object reaches 150 ft.
It's 3 seconds.
(Funny how the two widely different methods lead to the same answer.)

Yuliya22 [10]

The slope in this scenario is 12 and , starting at $30 the cost will increase by $12 per month .

In the question ,

it is given that

the average bowling league has  one time registration fees

and

a monthly fees .

let the number of months the training continues be "x" .

the equation is given as y = 12x + 30

since the one time registration fees is fixed so , it will be 30 .

and the monthly fees varies with the number of months of training , so monthly fees will be 12x  .

On comparing the given equation y = 12x + 30 with slope intercept form of the line y = mx + c  ,
we get ,

slope (m) = 12 .

and starting cost = $30 and the increase in cost by $12 per month .

Therefore , The slope in this scenario is 12 and , starting at $30 the cost will increase by $12 per month , the correct option is (c) .

The given question is incomplete , the complete question is

A professional bowler wanted to gather data about the cost of local bowling leagues in the area. After collecting and plotting the data, it was determined that the average bowling league consists of a one-time registration fee and a monthly fee modeled by the equation y = 12x + 30.

Identify and interpret the slope in this scenario.

(a) The slope is 30. Starting at $12, the cost will increase by $30 per month.

(b) The slope is 30. Starting at $12, the cost will decrease by $30 per month.

(c) The slope is 12. Starting at $30, the cost will increase by $12 per month.

(d) The slope is 12. Starting at $30, the cost will decrease by $12 per month.

Separate 3x^6:

3^3\times\left(x^6\right)^3

27\times\left(x^6\right)^3

27x^{6\times3}
