The most profitable customers or potential clients are a business's core target market. A potential customer is someone who has the prospects to buy or use an item that a business sells.

Each business needs customers to sell their goods and create income and profits. As a result, potential clients are critical to any business because they represent a huge opportunity for growth and development. Potential customers nowadays are crucial to making profits in the future considering that they are still not our customers. Nonetheless, they may later become potential customers for products.

FIFO (First in, First Out) reports higher gross profit and net income than the LIFO (Last In, First Out) method when prices are increasing. The FIFO method refers to an inventory system wherein the first items purchased are thought to be sold while the most recent purchases make up the ending inventory. On the other hand, the LIFO method assumes the opposite. The ones sold are the most recent purchases while the earlier purchases are included in the ending inventory.

Lang Warehouses borrowed $178,960 from a bank and signed a note requiring 8 annual payments of $28,819 beginning one year from t
yan [13]

Answer: 6%

Explanation:

The annual payments can be considered to be annuity payments as they are constant. The amount borrowed can be considered the present value of the annuity.

Present value of annuity = Annuity * Present value interest factor of annuity, 8 years, %?

178,960 = 28,819 * Annuity factor

Annuity factor = 178,960 / 28,819

= 6.20979

To find out the interest rate, look at the Present Value of Annuity table and go to the 8 period column. Look for 6.20979. The interest rate that intersects with this factor is the interest rate implicit in this agreement.

That rate is 6%.

Lelu [443]

Let's assume that Atlantis has 140 million adult residents. If there are 90 million employed people and 10 million unemployed people, that leaves 40 million people out of the labor force.

What does the term "labor force" mean?

All people who meet the criteria for inclusion among the employed or unemployed make up the labor force, also known as the population that is currently engaged in labor-force activities. The term "employed" refers to people who work for pay or profit at least one hour per week or who hold a job but are momentarily off the clock due to illness, vacation, or a strike. The armed forces include anyone who served in the armed forces during the time in question, whether they were stationed in the metropolitan territory or elsewhere, and was selected from the pool of all workers available.

The operating revenues of the three largest business segments for Time Warner, Inc., for a recent year follow. Each segment incl
Kisachek [45]

Answer:

Time Warner, Inc.

a.

Turner Home Box Office Warner Bros. Total

Segment Revenues

(in millions) $21,700 $22,200 $80,600 $124,500

Variable costs 4,774 10,434 25,792 41,000

Contribution margin $16,926 $11,766 $54,808 $83,500

Contribution ratio 78% (100 - 22) 53% (100 -47) 68% (100 -32) 67%

b. Certainly, Turnover and Warner Bros. are more profitable businesses than Home Box Office in terms of total contribution margin (dollars) and contribution margin ratio.

Explanation:

a) Data and Calculations:

Segment Revenues

(in millions)

Turner (cable networks and digital media) $21,700

Home Box Office (pay television) 22,200

Warner Bros. (films, television, and videos) 80,600

Assume that the variable costs as a percent of sales for each segment are as follows:

Turner 22%

Home Box Office 47%

Warner Bros. 32%

b) The contribution margin ratio for the three segments can easily be determined by subtracting the variable costs percentages from 100 for each segment instead of doing more computations (Contribution margin/Sales Revenue * 100). But the results are the same for either method.
