Operating capital - Operating capital refers to that amount of cash required to run day to day working or operation of business .

Total Operating Capital = Total assets (short term + long term)  - current liabilities  

total assets include inventories, accounts receivable , fixed assets etc.

current liabilities include account payables, accrued expenses, income tax accrued interest etc.

NOWC means net operating working capital it is difference between current assets and non interest bearing current liabilities

Current assets include cash accounts receivable and inventories and exclude marketable securities

Non interest bearing current liabilities means amount of money company must pay within a year without own interest.
