Phosphoric acid is delivered to a drinks factory in concentrated form. Why do you think the acid is not diluted before transport

ing it?

The acid is transported in the concentrated form because it takes up a lesser volume.

What is dilution?

The term dilution has to do with the process by which more water is added to the acid in order to reduce the strength of the acid. We have to note that the acid is stronger in the concentrated form because there is a very little amount of water that is found to be present in the concentrated acid as it is transported.

Let us note that when you dilute the acid, there would be an increase in the volume of the acid and this increase in the volume of the acid is going to raise the cost that is required in the transport of the acid.

n a laboratory experiment, John uses a mesh to separate soil particles from water. Which technique of separation is he using?
Klio2033 [76]
He is using the filtration method.
It’s a technique which is used for separation of solids and fluids by putting them through a medium which allows only fluid to pass through, leaving the solids (in this case the soil) alone.
The fluid that passed is called the filtrate.

Involves combining of nuclei:
bogdanovich [222]

Explanation:

Involves combining of nuclei: Nuclear fusion

Nuclear fusion is a radioactive reaction in which small atomic nuclei combines into larger ones with the release of a large amount of energy. The energy released is used to furnish a series of chain reactions.

Produces dangerous radioactive waste: Nuclear fission

Nuclear fission is used in powering most nuclear power plants. The products of these reactions are radioactive in nature. They are very dangerous to human health and the environment at large.

Have high activation energies: Nuclear fusion

The activation energy is the energy barrier that must be overcome before a reaction starts. Nuclear fusion reactions require very high amount of energy input to overcome the activation needed to start the reaction.

Releases large amounts of energy: Nuclear reactions

Both nuclear fusion and fission releases large amount of energy.

Occurs in the stars: Nuclear fusion

Nuclear fusion occurs in stars and they involve the combination of atomic nuclei to form larger ones.

Drives chemical plants: Nuclear fission

Chemical plants uses electricity and nuclear power plants can produce electricity through nuclear fission.

1.5 moles are present in 60.0 grams of calcium.
Andrew [12]

Answer:

True.

Explanation:

To know which option is correct, let us calculate the number of mole present in 60g of calcium. This is illustrated below:

Mass of Ca = 60g

Molar Mass of Ca = 40g/mol

Number of mole Ca =....?

Number of mole = Mass/Molar Mass

Number of mole of Ca = 60/40

Number of mole Ca = 1.5 moles.

From the calculations made above, we can see that 1.5 moles are present in 60.0 grams of calcium
