Efficiency η is the ratio of input work over the output work. It is defined as:

η=work done/heat absorbed=(Q₂-Q₁)/Q₁ where Q₁ is the heat absorbed and Q₂-Q₁ is the work done.

This ratio is never greater or equal to 1, or 100% because the second law of thermodynamics doesn't allow it.

HELP!
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

  1) Option D

  2) Option D

  3) Option C

Explanation:

1) Kinetic energy =\frac{1}{2} mv^2

    m = 500 kg

    v = 10 m/s

   Kinetic energy =\frac{1}{2} *500*10^2=25000 J

   Option D is the correct answer.

2) Potential energy = mgh

   m = 25 kg

    g = 10 m/s²

    h = 42 m

     Potential energy = 25 * 10 * 42 = 10500 J

   Option D is the correct answer.

3) Thermal equilibrium means no heat flow from each other two systems, that is achieved when both systems have same temperature.

  Option C is the correct answer.

4. A 1,000-kilogram satellite completes a uniform circular orbit of radius 8.0 x 10 meters as
lesantik [10]

Answer:

Zero

Explanation:

The work done by a force on an object is given by:

W=Fd cos \theta

where

F is the magnitude of the force

d is the displacement of the object

\theta is the angle between the direction of the force and the displacement of the object

In this situation, the force is the force of gravity acting on the satellite. This force always points towards the centre of the trajectory, so it is always perpendicular to the direction of motion of the satellite (since the orbit is circular), so \theta=90^{\circ} and cos \theta =0. Therefore, the work done by gravity is also zero.
