What your going to do is a keep change flip so you keep 1/2, change the division sign to a multiplication sign and flip the 14/5 into 5/14 after that you multiply straight across

so 0.6 (which is 3/5) multiplied by 4 is 2.4.
8+2.4=10.4

So here are the results for the distance covered in 4 days :

Val = 10.4 miles
Bill = 10 miles

Therefore, I think Val covers the most distance in 4 days.
