So firstly, you want to multiply both sides by (x-2)(x+2) since it is the LCM, or lowest common multiplier. Your equation will look like this: \frac{3}{x+2} (x-2)(x+2)-\frac{4}{x-2} (x-2)(x+2)=5(x-2)(x+2)

Next, you can cancel out the denominators on 3/x+2 and 4/x-2 on the left side: 3(x-2)-4(x+2)=5(x-2)(x+2)

Next, foil: 3x-6-4x-8=5x^2-20

Next, combine like terms: -x-14=5x^2-20

Next, add x + 14 on both sides: 0=5x^2+x-6

Next, replace x with -5x + 6x: 0=5x^2-5x+6x-6

Next, factor 5x^2-5x and 6x-6 separately. Make sure that both factors have the same quantity within the parentheses: 0=5x(x-1)+6(x-1)

With this, we can rewrite it as 0=(5x+6)(x-1) From here, we solve for x in (5x+6) and (x-1) separately and setting them to zero.

5x+6=0\\ 5x=-6\\x=-\frac{6}{5} =-1.2

x-1=0\\ x=1

In short, x = -1.2, 1.

What are the types to change 2 and 1/3 to an improper fraction
KonstantinChe [14]
It would be 7/3 as you times the whole number by the denominator. Then add the numerator to get the numerator of your answer, finally add the original denominator to your answer to equal 7/3 .

I am just completely lost and am unsure of how to approach this problem.
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

68°

Step-by-step explanation:

As BA⊥BD, so ∠ABD = 90°

also, ∠ABD = ∠CBD + ∠ABC

⇒ 90° = 4x + 52° + 8x - 10°

⇒  12x = 48°

⇒  x = 4°

now,

∠CBD = 4x + 52°

          = 4(4°) + 52°

          = 68°

Select the correct answer. What is the range of the function f(x) = -4\x+ 11 - 5? A. (-4,-5) B. [-5,-) OC. (-4,-) OD. (-2,-4] Re
Y_Kistochka [10]

We are given the following function:

f(x)=-4\lvert x+1\rvert-5

This function is equivalent to the function:

g(x)=-4\lvert x+1\rvert

Together with a translation 5 units in the negative direction of the "x" axis. Since the range of g(x) is all the values of "y" that are smaller or equal to zero, if we translate 5 units in the negative direction of the y-axis the range is:

R(f(x))=\mleft\lbrace y\parallel y\mright?\le5\rbrace

or in interval notation:

R(f(x))=(-\infty,-5\rbrack

kaheart [24]

1/2(4x-5) + 5/2 = 10

Use the distributive property:

2x - 5/2 + 5/2 = 10

Use addition property:

2x = 10

Divide both sides by 2:

x = 10/2

x = 5
