Graphing Equations. answer quick please!

Mathematics

So this equation is written in y=mx+b form where m is the slope, in this case -1, b is the y- intercept in this case 3. So to graph the y intercept is on the vertical line x=0 at 3. and the slope, or rate of change is -1. The line would go from the top left to the bottom right crossing through the point (0,3). Hope this helps.

Graph the inequality y>2/3x-1
xenn [34]

Answer:

graph{y>2/3x-1 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

Explanation:

First, graph a line with the equation y=23x−1. This equation is in the form y=mx+b. 23 is the slope and −1 is the y-intercept.

graph{2/3x-1 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

However, we are graphing an inequality so we're gonna have to shade either the area above the line or below the line. First, let's look at the inequality symbols.

> Greater than

< Less than

≥ Greater than or equal to

≤ Less than or equal to

If the inequality includes equal to, then the line will be solid. If not, then the line will be dotted. Since the inequality y>23x−1 doesn't contain the equal to, the line will be dotted.

The direction of the inequality sign matters too. If it's greater than, then the top area will be shaded. If it's less than, then the bottom area will be shaded. Since the inequality y>23x−1 has greater than, the top area will be shaded.

graph{y>2/3x-1 [-10, 10, -5, 5]}

There are 165 laptops and desktop computers in a lab. There are 9 more laptops than desktop computers. What is the total number
Alina [70]

Answer:

87

Step-by-step explanation:

Let d = number of desktops.

Let a = number of laptops.

a + d = 165

a = d + 9

d = a - 9

a + d = 165

a + a - 9 = 165

2a - 9 = 165

2a = 174

a = 87
