Match the vocabulary terms to the correct definitions. 1. a speed or rate of change where the denominator (or second quantity me
Mrrafil [7]

The vocabulary terms have been matched to the correct definitions as follows;

  • Direct variation: describes variation between proportional relationships
  • Slope: a ratio describing vertical change to horizontal change of a linear relationship on a coordinate grid
  • Rate of change:  a number, k, that represents the unit rate used in a direct variation equation y = kx for comparing proportional relationships between two variables x and y found by using division
  • Unit rate: a speed or rate of change where the denominator (or second quantity measured) in the ratio is 1
  • Constant of proportionality: the ratio of vertical change to horizontal change rate of change

<h3>What are Mathematical Terms?</h3>
  • Mathematical terms refer to phrases and words that define certain arithmetic standards.

  • The above are the definitions of the mathematical terms. Direct variation, for instance, expresses the relationship between two variables, x, and y.

  • The slope is often used after graphing and indicates the relationship of change between the vertical and horizontal axes.

Jimmy is building a rectangular fence for his back yard. If the perimeter of the fence is 300 feet and the width 20 feet longer
IRISSAK [1]

Answer:

Length-65 ft   Width: 85

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's set the length as x, and the width as x+20 (because it is 20 ft longer than length)

We know that 2L+2W=Perimeter

We can substitute x and x+20 in for 2L and 2W, and 300 for Perimeter

New Equation: 2(x) +2(x+20)=300

After Distribution: 2x+2x+40=300

Combine like terms: 4x+40=300

Subtract 40 from both sides: 4x=260

Divide 4 on both sides and you get x=65 (Length)

Add 20 to get width : x+20= 85

I hope it helped! :)

Determine if each graph below represents a function. Then state its domain and range. PLEASE HELP!!!! WILL MARK BRAINLIEST. NEED
Montano1993 [528]

Answer: Graph 10 and 12 are both functions while graph 13 is not a function

Step-by-step explanation: The best way to know if the graph is a function is by the vertical line test, if the points on the graph pass through the straight vertical line more than once, it is not a function, but if it passes though the line only once then it is a function. Now for the Domain and range, the best way to see it is as DomainX and RangeY, this is something I learned when I did functions, and it helped me a lot. Now if you look at 10 and 12, both go on infinitely, as they have no stopping point, meaning that the domain would be (-infinity, infinity), and for 13 you can simply put the coordinates for each point in a chart, with your X and Y, remember DomainX and RangeY, this should help you understand which is X and which is Y. I hope this helped a bit. Now for RangeY, for 10, look for the lowest number in the Y axis that the line goes, for this case its, -1, and then look for the highest number on the Y axis that the line goes, aka 3, now use this as a example and you can easily find 12's Range.
