As a consecuence, the mean doesnt reflect the overall performance of the students, in reality this good performance (compared to the mean) is compensated by a few very poor grades (we may assume blank exams), which push the mean back. This is why the median is a more accurate indicator of the score of the average student, because the median is less affected by the swewedness than the median is.
