24
We can divide the 8th graders into 4 groups. They are:
1. Like both math and science.
2. Like only math.
3. Like only science.
4. Don't like either math or science.
The sum of the people in all 4 groups will add up to 120. So let's see how many are in each group.
We've been given 23 as the number of people who like only math (group 2).
And since we know that 84 people like math, that means that 84 - 23 = 61 people are in group 1. And since we know that 73 people like science, that means that 73 - 61 = 12 are in group 3. So of the 4 groups, we now know.
1. Like both math and science (61 people).
 2. Like only math (23 people).
 3. Like only science (12 people).
 4. Don't like either math or science (unknown).

 So for the people left in group 4 (don't like either subject) that will be 120 - 61 - 23 - 12 = 24.

When looking at the graph of a 5th degree function, how can you determine if all of the zeros of the function are real?
Finger [1]

Answer:

If it cuts x-axis 5 times.

Step-by-step explanation:

When we look at the graph of a function we can see its real roots by looking at its graph

The intersecting points that is the number of times a line cutting x-axis will be the real root of the function

So, by looking at the 5th degree function the number of time that function cuts x-axis will be the number of real roots.

So, if we need to say all the zeroes or roots of the function are real means it will cut the x-axis 5 times.

Because a function will have the root equal to its degree.

Find the volume of a cylinder made by rotating a rectangle with a width of 5 feet and a length of 8. Round to the nearest whole
pav-90 [236]
<span>We have to find the volume of a cylinder made by rotating a rectangle. When a rectangle with a width of 5 feet and a length of 8 feet rotates it makes a cylinder with a radius: r = 5 ft and a height h = 8 ft. The volume of a cylinder: V = r^2 * Pi *h ; V = 5^2 * 3.14 * 8; V = 25 * 3.14 * 8; Answer: Volume of a cylinder is V = 628 ft^2. </span>
